Legacy Premium was designed with long term shelf life in mind. They use extra thick Mylar pouches to protect food from oxygen and moisture. The heavy duty buckets provide an additional protection from water, sun, rodents, and anything else that may puncture the pouches accidentally. If you open the buckets it does not diminish the shelf life of the food which is up to 25 years.

Packaging and Containers

Each meal comes packaged in a four-serving Mylar pouch that is flushed with nitrogen and sealed with an oxygen absorber inside.

Several Mylar pouches are stored in a re-sealable, heavy duty, BPA-free plastic bucket.
